My English Polo Picnic Menu is inspired by attending the Veuve Cliquot Polo tournament. I wanted to create a fun picnic menu for summer and Polo, with it’s ancient and complicated origins provides inspiration for an intriguing menu. Polo, it really old. And it probably started in Persia. It has migrated throughout the East before finally settling into India, when the British picked it up in the Colonial Empire Days. Of course they formalized it and added lots of rules, before it became the game we know now. So in creating an English Polo Picnic Menu, I pulled on flavors and ingredients from all over Asia while still making English dishes.
Cucumber Lychee Pimm’s Cups
Lemongrass Iced Tea
Salmon Burgers with Curry Mayo
Spring Pea Salad with Mint Pesto
Saffron Poached Apricot Almond Trifle
Don’t forget to check out the pictures from the Polo Match!
