Add the bourbon (if you're anything like me on a Friday night, you're going to aim for the 2 ounce pour), simple syrup (too lazy to make it from scratch? triple sec isn't quite as cool and herbal, but it gets the job done) and cherry juice (the sour part is important).
Top off with champagne (add an ice cube if it's not cold enough for you).
This drink is great on the rocks, too. Use different glasses to make it feel festive.
I had to share, the coupes I have are hollow in the stem. They pour very dramatically as the different liquids striate.
