Ingredients
1 ½cupswhole wheat flourplus a little for rolling
½cuprolled oats
1teaspoonbaking powder
½cupmilkor less- very flour and peanut butter dependent
1cupsalt and sugar free peanut butteronly ingredient should be peanuts
2tablespoonsblackstrap molasses
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°.
Whisk the flour, oats and baking powder together in a medium bowl.
Gradually stir in the milk, peanut butter and molasses.
Turn out onto a floured surface. Knead until soft dough forms.
Roll out to ½ inch thickness and cut with a dog bone cookie cutter.
Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool overnight in the oven or cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
The dog cookies last about two weeks in an airtight container at room temperature. In the refrigerator four to five weeks and in the freezer you’ll get six months.
